Zucchini Cake

"Mmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmmm, YUMMY!!!!" These were the words Eli repeated as he helped me make some zucchini bread tonight. He looked cute in Karl's little apron dumping in all of the ingredients. When it was all mixed up I used the spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl and Eli anxiously asked me, "Mommy can I lick the shovel?" It took me a minute to understand what he was talking about. While I as letting the bread cool I apparently didn't have the "cake" back enough on the stove and Eli kept stealing fists full of bread.

Phone Talking

Today was my first day in L&D and to say the least it was very overwhelming. Looking for a comforting and supportive voice I called home to say Hi to Karl. To my surprise Eli answered the phone. He went on for several minutes repeating...."pee pee and pooh pooh in my underwear is yucky, eeeewwwww sick!" "I not go pee pee and pooh pooh in my underwear, Mommy, I a big boy!" =)

Spaghetti-o

Eli loves to make a mess with Spaghetti-os. If you think his face is messy, you should of seen the finger prints I cleaned up all around the kitchen!!!

Clothes Monster

Karl and Eli love to put clothes on their heads and play "clothes monsters."

Sparkles

Grandpa taught the little kids the art of doing sparklers. Eli was excited to wave his "sparkles" around and around. His favorite part was to put the burned out sparkler in the bucket of water and listen to it fizz.

Swim Swim

Eli was lucky to swim with such beautiful ladies at Grandma and Grandpa's house!!!! As you can tell, Gwynn did not like Eli's "not so lady like" run, jump, splash in the pool.

Nature.....it's all around meeeee

Some of Pioneer Day was spent in Millcreek Canyon. Eli spent most of the ride sleeping while we admired the beautiful nature.....yes, all around us!!!!

Remember When...

I am at work right now with nothing to do. I have done all of my assignments, assessments, tests, blood draws, QC checks, and have washed every possible surface that can be washed. So I am looking at old pictures of Eli and thought I would post them on the blog.

Eli in the tub with his "be-be" and wearing his daddy's hat!
Eli trick-or-treating with Papa, dressed up as Jason Varitek. Little did I know the months before while getting his costume together that the Red Sox would win the World Series. It was a big hit on the candy gathering trail.
....And who can forget Eli's first favorite pair of shoes, PINK CROCS. The crocs first belonged to Peanut and he loves anything and everything to do with her!!!!

BYU Women's Clinic

Anyone up for some football fun? We will be going to the 4th annual BYU Football Women's Clinic this Thursday 7/31. If you are interested in attending let me know and I will add you to the group!

Lucia's Baby Shower

Good times are to be had at a Thompson function involving food!!!

Lucia, Maria (Lucia's mom), Sophia (Lucia's sister), Ia (Sophia's daughter), and Sammy were in town from Tucson and Mexico to celebrate the up and coming birth of ocho (her due date is 8/8/08 so the baby is known as such).

The top picture is funny in so many ways. First...I am known for taking such fabulous pictures. My parents fridge is tatt'd with a bunch of photos of me throughout the years striking a seriously funky pose. My family members (Danni) find shear enjoyment catching me in my finest moments. If you have been to Ralph and Brenda's then you know what I am talking about. My favorite one is of me just out of bed with my hair sticking straight up...you get the point. The other reason why this picture is so funny is because my own mother told me that Lucia's shower started at 1 o'clock when it really started at 11. You really shouldn't tell the person in charge of making homemade rolls the wrong start time. I was baking rolls the whole shower. Luckily Danni found a space heater and I was able to force raise the rolls. Oh and the only food request that Lucia had was my rolls so think about the sick feeling in my stomach when I learned of the real start time of the shower. We all had a great laugh when my mom said, "I know I told one person the wrong start time of the shower now we all know who that was!" FREAK!!!!!

The bottom picture is of my sisters, Lucia and my Mom. What a fun day!!!

Best of Friends

Ashlynn and Eli are so darn cute. Eli is so lucky to have a nice Aunt Shauna to watch him once a week while mom works. He loves going to "Ashlynn Rypien's" and all the fun to be had there. mostly it is Eli locking Ashlynn in her room, teasing her, or taking her toys away. Sorry Ashlynn!!!

Eli adds everyone's last names when he talks about others. Recently he has been calling me Mommy Cruise Paulson and his daddy is Daddy Cruise Paulson. Too funny.

Getting Dirty

Eli likes to ride his bike, which his mommy use to ride when she was his age. He also likes to play with the dogs, eat Popsicles, and eat dirt. If you can't tell his face is covered with dirt. Ahhhhhh the dogs days of summer!!!!

Finally....a Haircut

Daddy pulled out the old "do it all by myself" attitude for Eli's new haircut. Eli was smiling in the beginning but throwing a fit by the end. Why is it that when we go to the barber shop he will sit there as cute as can be but when daddy comes blazing with scary sounding clippers Eli tries with all his might to escape. This feature was worse than bathing the dogs!!!!

How Does Your Garden Grow?

This year we dusted off our green thumbs and tried our skills with vegetable plants. We read up on "square foot gardening" and this is the product. Here you see two of our six boxes we planted.....looking good ehh? Too bad it's too hard to import scratch and lick files to the blog =)

Karl also planted three black berry bushes and nine raspberry bushes. Oh and I shouldn't forget to mention the 21 tomato plants that are growing like wild fire.
